India Arrests Prominent Kashmiri Activist

He had published several reports on human rights violations committed by Indian forces in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He is also the chairperson of the Asian Federation Against Involuntary Disappearances (AFAD). It is an international rights organization that looks into the forced disappearances in Kashmir and elsewhere in Asia.
International community reacts to activist asrrest
PaParvez’srrest has caused global outrage. Activists and social media users have dubbed the move as India’s attempt to silence dissent and punish human rights defenders. After the UN, Amnesty International also criticized India for using so-called anti-terror laws for criminalizing human rights work.
